The McFarland Soccer Club, in cooperation with the family of Ethan Larsen, would like to honor Ethan’s memory by naming the annual college scholarship after him.  Starting this year, the Club’s Scholarship will be known as the Ethan Larsen Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship will be given each year to two graduating seniors, one male and one female, who played for MCS.

Ethan Larsen embodied what our club values on and off the pitch. Ethan graduated Summa Cum Laude from McFarland High School where he participated in various clubs and charitable organizations and was a member of the National Honor Society. Ethan was known as being a friend to anyone, and his teachers mentioned how he was always willing to help out.

On the pitch, Ethan was known as being a relentless player who never gave up. He was twice awarded the team’s Spirit Award by a unanimous vote by his teammates. “He touched so many lives. I can’t speak highly enough of him as a person, a player, a teammate, a captain and a leader,” said Ethan’s MCS coach, Brett Ogorzalek. “He was a role model for the younger kids. He had a heart of gold. He was probably the most unselfish person I’ve ever seen.”

The McFarland Soccer Club couldn’t imagine a better role model for current and future student athletes that apply for the scholarship.

The McFarland Soccer Club will also be making a donation to an organization that supports Mental Health.
